We hope you were able to join us for Villa Rica's Annual GOLD RUSH FESTIVAL! Saturday, September 6, 2008 Carl Lewis' "babies" Nugget and Milton did a great job of pulling the covered wagon in the parade. We brought the oxen back to Pine Mountain Gold Museum and found the parking lot FULL! Folks came from all over to see the artists who came to demonstrate their craft. The grist mill was grinding cornmeal and panning for gold was at an all time high! Danny Mote and his band played on the stage as visitors came and went. We even had a visit from the gunslingers at The Rocky Branch Railroad! Special thanks to City Manager, Larry Wood, for providing lunch to the staff and volunteers. The Carroll County Gem and Mineral Society and our fantastic bunch of volunteers came out to spend the day and greet the public. Thank you everyone for making our very first Gold Rush a big success! IF YOU HAVE PICTURES YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE, PLEASE EMAIL THEM TO CARLA!
